Hajat Hadijah Uzeiye Namyalo, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), has defended President Yoweri Museveni’s historical contribution to Uganda, describing his leadership journey as one rooted in sacrifice, patriotism, and faith.

Speaking during a mobilisation event attended by NRM supporters, Namyalo reflected on the President’s path from the bush war era to national leadership, saying the liberation struggle was not only fought with military determination but also guided by Christian values and discipline.

According to Namyalo, the AK-47 symbolised the armed struggle that rescued Uganda from instability and dictatorship during the early 1980s, while the Bible represented the moral compass that has continued to shape Museveni’s leadership philosophy.
She noted that Museveni’s rise to power was driven by a mission to restore peace, expand infrastructure, improve access to education, and promote wealth creation among ordinary Ugandans rather than personal interests.
“The liberation struggle was about saving Uganda and giving citizens hope again,” Namyalo said, adding that today’s generation should appreciate the country’s history and preserve the gains achieved through sacrifice.
Her remarks have since been amplified by ONC and PLU mobilisation teams in Busoga and several other regions as part of ongoing efforts to rally support for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Namyalo also urged young people to remain focused on patriotism, unity, and nation-building, saying Uganda’s future depends on protecting the foundation laid during the liberation struggle.
