Barbra Nekesa Oundo, the NRM chief treasurer, is reportedly facing turbulence in her marriage after separating from her husband, Suleiman Lumolo, who has allegedly moved out of their Muyenga home in Bukasa village.
Sources close to the couple claim the relationship has been under pressure for some time, with differences in lifestyle, personal expectations, and family matters said to be at the center of the fallout. Friends of Nekesa reportedly believe the senior NRM official has outgrown the relationship and prefers a more sophisticated social circle.
The couple has lived together since 2016, but insiders say the absence of children in their nearly decade-long union has created tension between them. Lumolo, a businessman and NRM chairman for Sironko District, is also said to have struggled with balancing the marriage alongside his other wives, as permitted under his Muslim faith.
Reports further suggest that Nekesa has been reconsidering reconnecting with her former husband, Ambassador Oundo, with whom she previously shared a relationship before marrying Lumolo.
Despite the separation, sources indicate that Lumolo is still eager to save the marriage and has been reaching out to mutual friends in hopes of reconciliation. Those close to him say he deeply values Nekesa and is finding it difficult to imagine life without her.
The developments have sparked quiet discussion within political and social circles, especially given the couple’s visibility within the NRM establishment.
