Bulange, Mengo — The Senior Presidential Advisor and Personal Assistant to H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Kyambogo, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye has purchased running kits worth Shs15 million to support this year’s Kabaka Birthday Run, an initiative spearheaded by the Buganda Kingdom to combat HIV/AIDS.Speaking at the event, Hajjat Namyalo commended the Buganda Kingdom for its sustained efforts in mobilising the public through the annual run to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS.
She reaffirmed the President’s unwavering commitment to public health initiatives, particularly those aimed at eradicating HIV.
She further expressed confidence that with continued collaboration among cultural institutions, government, and other stakeholders, the ambitious target of eliminating HIV/AIDS by 2030—championed by Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, remains achievable.
“President Museveni remains steadfast in supporting interventions that improve the health and wellbeing of Ugandans. This contribution is a reflection of that commitment,” Namyalo said
The donation, made on behalf of President Museveni, was officially handed over during a meeting held at Bulange Gardens in Mengo, where Hajjat Namyalo and her delegation were received by the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga

He singled out Hajjat Namyalo for her dedication, urging other leaders to emulate her approach to service and cultural loyalty.
“We can change political affiliations and religious beliefs, but we cannot change our identity. It is important that leaders prioritise their heritage and people,” Mayiga saidThe Katikkiro also extended appreciation to President Museveni for his ongoing efforts in addressing corruption and supporting national development initiatives.
Following the engagement, Hajjat Namyalo received the kits for onward distribution to Bazzukulu, encouraging widespread participation in the run, which is not only a celebration of the Kabaka’s 71st birthday but also a platform for raising awareness in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The ONC, under Namyalo’s leadership, has in recent years strengthened its collaboration with the Buganda Kingdom through active involvement in socio-economic and community-based initiatives, reinforcing ties between the central government and the cultural institution
