Promoters across Uganda are set to access a Shs7 billion government grant after President Yoweri Museveni authorized the release of the funds, while revealing that an alleged attempt to divert the money had been thwarted.
According to a brief shared by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, President Museveni said he had already signed the necessary documentation to enable promoters to receive and begin utilizing the funds.

The President also disclosed that certain individuals had allegedly attempted to interfere with or misappropriate the grant, but government intervention ensured that the money remained available for its intended beneficiaries.
Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja conveyed the President’s message during a meeting with promoters in Kampala on Tuesday, assuring them that the funds would soon be accessible.
The Shs7 billion grant is expected to support promoters in their activities, with government officials emphasizing transparency and accountability in the disbursement process.
