MUKONO** — Members of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Bazzukulu on Saturday joined the nationwide General Cleaning Exercise, responding to President Yoweri Museveni’s call for collective action to promote a cleaner and healthier environment.
Dressed in ONC-branded attire and armed with brooms, spades and other cleaning tools, the volunteers participated in the exercise alongside residents in various communities, reaffirming their commitment to environmental conservation and community service.
In Mukono Municipality, the clean-up exercise was spearheaded by ONC Bazukulu, Jamila Baker and Rahma Baker, who mobilised residents to take part in the initiative aimed at improving sanitation and public hygiene.

The exercise focused on clearing rubbish, sweeping public spaces and improving the cleanliness of neighbourhoods as part of the government’s broader campaign to encourage community participation in maintaining a healthy environment.
Participants said the initiative reflects the importance of collective responsibility in protecting the environment and preventing sanitation-related diseases.
The Office of the National Chairman has continued to encourage young people, popularly known as the ONC Bazzukulu, to actively participate in community development initiatives, including environmental conservation, civic engagement and voluntary service.
The nationwide clean-up campaign forms part of ongoing efforts to promote public health and environmental stewardship, with Ugandans encouraged to work together in keeping their communities clean.
Organisers said such initiatives complement government programmes aimed at fostering responsible citizenship and creating safer, healthier and more attractive communities across the country.
