KIRUHURA, Uganda — President Yoweri Museveni has congratulated Kisha and Aaron Kafureeka upon their Okuhingira (traditional marriage ceremony), conveying warm greetings from the First Lady, Maama Janet Museveni.
Addressing guests at the ceremony, the President emphasized the importance of building a strong and lasting marriage founded on friendship and mutual understanding. He advised the newlyweds to safeguard their union from unnecessary external interference, noting that marriage is a partnership between two people.

The President also commended the local community for embracing the government’s wealth creation initiatives. He highlighted the area’s abundant natural resources, particularly River Rwizi, which feeds Lake Kakyera, as offering significant potential for commercial agriculture through irrigation.
During his remarks, President Museveni paid tribute to the late freedom fighters Kaboyo and Kafureeka for their contribution to Uganda’s liberation struggle. He also praised Alice for her dedication and commendable role in raising her family.

The President concluded by wishing Kisha and Aaron God’s blessings as they begin their married life together. In a light-hearted moment, he told the Bevugi that he would return to teach them how to Kwevuga, drawing laughter and applause from the gathering.
