Uganda’s push for faster socio-economic transformation took center stage as Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja opened a three-day National Annual Performance Review Conference at Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo.
Rather than a routine government gathering, the conference is being framed as a decisive moment to shift from assessment to action. Leaders from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, alongside development partners, convened to examine progress—but with a clear message: results must now translate into tangible improvements in citizens’ lives.
Nabbanja emphasized the importance of sustained participation, urging attendees to remain engaged through the final sessions, which will be addressed and officially closed by President Yoweri Museveni. His involvement is expected to reinforce the government’s commitment to aligning national priorities with global development expectations.
Held under the theme, *“Coordinated Actions for Accelerated National Socio-Economic Transformation amidst Global Partnership Reform,”* the conference stands out for its integrated review approach. It simultaneously evaluates national government performance, local government outcomes, and Uganda’s progress on the Sustainable Development Goals.
Officials are being challenged to move beyond reporting and focus on innovation, coordination, and measurable impact. The emphasis is on practical solutions that can strengthen service delivery, expand economic opportunities, and ensure inclusive growth.
At its core, the conference signals a shift in tone—from reflection to urgency—as Uganda seeks to accelerate development outcomes and ensure that progress reachesevery citizen.
