Nabanja Urges Results-Driven Governance as Museveni Praises Progress at National Review Conference
At the close of Uganda’s National Performance Review Conference in
Munyonyo, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja delivered a strong message on behalf of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, emphasizing a shift from policy discussion to measurable impact.
Speaking at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Nabbanja highlighted the President’s call for government institutions to prioritize tangible results, accountability, and efficient use of public resources. The message underscored a growing focus on evidence-based decision-making to ensure that national development programs directly benefit citizens.
The President’s remarks pointed to encouraging gains in key sectors, including improved service delivery systems, increased domestic revenue mobilization, and notable outcomes in strategic programmes such as petroleum resource development, justice administration, and tourism growth. These achievements were framed not as endpoints, but as indicators of what disciplined implementation can deliver.
Recognition was also given to top-performing local governments, with Isingiro District, Kiruhura District, and Nansana Municipality singled out for excellence—signaling a push to foster healthy competition and accountability at the district level.
Ultimately, the conference closed with a clear directive: Uganda’s development agenda must now be driven by performance metrics, data, and real-world results, rather than intentions alone, as reinforced by the ruling National Resistance Movement.
