A new incentive-driven approach to education took center stage in Iganga District as the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) spotlighted academic excellence and opportunity for young women. During the second Thanawi graduation ceremony at Ibun Baz Girls Secondary School in Busei, ONC Manager SPA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo—represented by Wakiso District Khadhi Sheikh Erias Kigozi—announced that top-performing students could benefit from the office’s Umrah initiative, positioning academic success as a gateway to international exposure and recognition.
The ceremony, which celebrated 21 graduates, emphasized not only scholastic achievement but also discipline and purpose. Speaking on behalf of Namyalo, Sheikh Kigozi encouraged the students to view education as a tool for leadership and service, particularly in shaping stronger communities.

Beyond words, the ONC reinforced its commitment through tangible support, contributing funds toward a new science laboratory block at the school—an investment aimed at strengthening STEM learning for girls in the region. Sheikh Kigozi further boosted the effort with a donation of 30 bags of cement, signaling a collaborative push to improve school infrastructure.
Local leaders, including Iganga District LC5 Chairperson Muhando Shabiru Isabirye, welcomed the intervention, noting that ONC’s education-focused programs are creating opportunities that cut across political and social divides.
With promises of both improved facilities and life-changing rewards, the initiative reflects a broader strategy: motivating academic excellence while expanding access to resources for girls’ education in underserved communities.
