Forensic Results Narrow Paul Kafeero’s Biological Heirs to Four
21 Claimants Ruled Out as DNA Confirms Only Four Children of Paul Kafeero
A government-led forensic DNA investigation has significantly narrowed the list of individuals claiming to be children of the late Ugandan music icon Paul Kafeero, with only four of the 25 claimants confirmed as his biological offspring.
The results, released after months of anticipation, identified Benedicto Kafeero, Simon Peter Kafeero, Thomas Swaz Kafeero, and Elizabeth Nagawa as the only individuals who share a biological relationship with the legendary Kadongo Kamu singer.
The findings effectively dismiss the claims of the remaining 21 individuals who had sought recognition as Kafeero’s children, a development that could have major implications for any ongoing family, inheritance, or estate-related matters linked to the deceased musician.
Paul Kafeero, one of Uganda’s most celebrated traditional musicians, left behind a lasting legacy in the country’s music industry. The DNA verification exercise was undertaken to establish the true beneficiaries and resolve long-standing disputes surrounding his lineage.
The confirmation of the four biological children is expected to provide clarity and potentially bring closure to questions that have persisted years after the singer’s death.
