Arsenal’s long pursuit of Premier League glory finally came to an end after Manchester City failed to beat Bournemouth, confirming Mikel Arteta’s side as champions before the final weekend of the season.
While celebrations erupted across north London, former manager Arsène Wenger focused on the mentality and resilience that carried the club back to the summit of English football. The legendary coach, who led Arsenal’s famous “Invincibles” to the title in 2004, praised the current squad for refusing to buckle under pressure during a tense run-in.
In a message shared through Arsenal’s official channels, Wenger told the players to embrace the achievement and enjoy the reward for their consistency throughout the campaign.
The title marks a defining moment for Arteta, whose project has steadily transformed Arsenal from top-four hopefuls into champions. Despite fierce competition from Manchester City, the Gunners maintained control at the top for much of the season thanks to their disciplined defending and strong collective performances.
Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith credited the team’s balance and composure for their success, highlighting their defensive strength as the foundation of the triumph. He admitted there were moments of anxiety given the club’s two-decade wait for a league crown, but believes the breakthrough could now free the players mentally heading into Europe.
Declan Rice captured the mood among the squad with a celebratory Instagram post declaring: “I told you all.. it’s done.”
Attention now turns to Arsenal’s final league match against Crystal Palace, where the team will officially lift the Premier League trophy in front of supporters. However, the season may still hold an even greater prize.
With a Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain still to come, Arsenal now have the chance to complete a historic double and crown one of the most memorable campaigns in the clu
