As Muslims prepare to celebrate Eid Al Adha, vulnerable families in Kawaala have received a boost after the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), led by Manager and Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, distributed food items and a bull to the Muslim community at Al Albaan Islamic Primary School, Masjid Noor.
The donation, delivered on behalf of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, targeted struggling families ahead of one of the most important celebrations on the Islamic calendar. The items were received by Muslim women from the mosque community, who expressed gratitude for the support.
Speaking during the handover, Hajjat Namyalo emphasized that the assistance was part of President Museveni’s continued commitment to standing with ordinary Ugandans during religious and social occasions.
She noted that the President remains concerned about the welfare of wananchi and wants communities, especially vulnerable groups, to feel supported during festive periods.
Beyond the Eid support, Hajjat Namyalo announced that ONC will soon resume its nationwide empowerment campaigns focusing on women, youth and low-income households. The programmes, she said, are intended to help Ugandans improve household incomes and combat poverty through practical economic empowerment initiatives.
She also used the occasion to encourage Muslim families to uphold unity, discipline and harmony during the celebrations, saying Eid should strengthen relationships within communities.
Leaders from Masjid Noor praised both President Museveni and Hajjat Namyalo for what they described as consistent outreach to grassroots communities. Speaking on behalf of the women, Hajjat Mariam Bashir said the support had brought relief and hope to many families preparing for Eid amid difficult economic conditions.
She further commended Hajjat Namyalo for maintaining close ties with ordinary citizens through community mobilisation and empowerment programmes that continue to benefit women and young people across different areas.
The Kawaala donation is part of ONC’s broader nationwide outreach drive under President Museveni’s wealth creation and poverty alleviation agenda.
