The head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, has framed President Yoweri Museveni’s reported 72 percent electoral victory as a validation of the ruling party’s grassroots mobilization strategy across the country.
Speaking after the election outcome, Namyalo said the victory was achieved despite what she described as sustained criticism, political attacks and attempts to undermine the campaign machinery.
According to her, ONC structures played a central role in energizing support for the President, particularly among youth and local communities. She argued that the organization’s empowerment initiatives and door-to-door mobilization efforts helped strengthen support for the ruling party nationwide.
“We faced insults, sabotage and attacks, but we remained focused on protecting and mobilizing the vote,” Namyalo said, adding that the final result reflected the resilience of the President’s supporters.
She further described the upcoming swearing-in ceremony as more than a constitutional event, saying it would represent the success of grassroots engagement programs that have been rolled out in different parts of Uganda under the ONC.
Namyalo maintained that the election outcome demonstrated continued public confidence in President Museveni’s leadership and the effectiveness of local mobilization networks built ahead of the polls.
