For every parent, nothing matters more than seeing their child healthy and thriving. Over the years, Uganda has made significant investments in maternal and child healthcare, giving thousands of children a better chance at life from their very first day.

One of the most visible achievements is the Mulago Specialized Women and Neonatal Hospital, a facility dedicated to mothers, newborns, and children requiring specialized care. With modern neonatal intensive care units, advanced surgical services, and specialized treatment options, many families can now access care that was previously difficult to find within the country.
Beyond Kampala, government investments have strengthened regional referral hospitals in Mbarara, Gulu, Mbale, and other parts of Uganda. Improved pediatric wards, medical equipment, and specialized healthcare services mean that families can increasingly receive quality treatment closer to home.
These improvements are contributing to broader efforts aimed at reducing child mortality, improving newborn survival, expanding immunization coverage, and supporting better nutrition outcomes. Every child who survives and grows up healthy represents a stronger future for Uganda.
Development is not only about roads, electricity, or economic programs. It is also about ensuring that children have the opportunity to live, learn, and reach their full potential. A healthy child is more likely to succeed in school, contribute to their community, and participate in building the nation.
As Uganda continues its development journey, investments in children’s healthcare remain investments in the country’s greatest resource—its people.
