The Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) and Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has appointed Hon. Fadil Twalla as the organization’s new General Secretary, replacing Hon. Daudi Kabanda, who has served in the role for the past three years.
In a statement shared on X, Gen Kainerugaba praised Kabanda for his contribution to the growth and development of PLU, describing his tenure as instrumental in shaping the position and the organization.
“I will work closely with him to achieve our objectives. I thank Hon. Kabanda for his three years of excellent service. He set the standard high for the position,” Gen Kainerugaba said while welcoming Twalla to the leadership team.
The appointment signals a new chapter for PLU as the organization continues to expand its activities and influence across the country. Twalla is expected to work closely with the PLU chairman in advancing the league’s agenda and strengthening its structures.
Kabanda’s departure marks the end of a notable tenure during which he played a key role in coordinating the organization’s programs and operations.
More details regarding the transition and the new General Secretary’s priorities are expected to emerge.
This is a developing story.
