President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has renewed Uganda’s call for greater foreign investment, urging British and European investors to tap into Africa’s vast economic potential during a meeting with the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for International Development and Africa, Rt Hon Baroness Chapman.
The meeting, held at State House Entebbe, focused on strengthening economic cooperation between Uganda and the United Kingdom, with discussions centred on expanding investment, trade, and development partnerships.
President Museveni highlighted Uganda’s investment opportunities and emphasized that Africa offers significant prospects for industrialisation, value addition, regional trade, and long-term economic growth. He encouraged investors from the United Kingdom and across Europe to view the continent as a strategic destination for sustainable investment.
The engagement also reaffirmed the longstanding relationship between Uganda and the United Kingdom, with both sides exploring ways to deepen collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including economic development and investment promotion.

President Museveni welcomed Baroness Chapman to Uganda and expressed optimism that continued dialogue would further strengthen bilateral ties and unlock new opportunities for businesses and investors from both countries.
The meeting reflects Uganda’s broader strategy of attracting foreign direct investment to support economic transformation, job creation, and sustainable development.
