One year after a meeting that brought together young leaders and youth mobilisers, the conversation on empowering Uganda’s young people continues to gain momentum.
The engagement, led by the Head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, alongside youth leaders Collins Tanga, Samuel Begira, and other young participants, focused on strengthening youth involvement in national development through social, economic, and leadership opportunities.
The discussions highlighted the importance of creating platforms where young people can actively participate in decision-making, access skills development, embrace entrepreneurship, and benefit from government empowerment programmes aimed at improving livelihoods.
Over the past year, the initiative has continued to encourage greater youth participation in leadership and community development, with many young people taking on more active roles in civic engagement and local initiatives.
The anniversary also serves as an opportunity to reaffirm the belief that investing in young people is essential to Uganda’s long-term development. By equipping youth with the skills, opportunities, and confidence to lead, stakeholders say the country is laying the foundation for a more inclusive and prosperous future.
As the youth empowerment agenda continues to evolve, the focus remains on expanding opportunities, nurturing leadership, and ensuring that more young Ugandans contribute meaningfully to national transformation.
The message remains clear: when young people are empowered and included, they become drivers of innovation, development, and sustainable progress.
