BUNDIBUGYO — The Kingdom of Obudhingiya Bwa Bwamba has extended condolences to the Royal Family, Kingdom administration and people of Tooro following the death of His Majesty Rukirabasaija King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV.
In a condolence message dated August 28, 2026, His Highness Col. Martin Ayongi Kamya, the Omudhingiya of Bwamba, described King Oyo as an icon of youthful leadership, unity, cultural pride and dedicated service.
The message was addressed to the Prime Minister, also known as the Omuhikirwa, and Cabinet of Tooro Kingdom in Fort Portal.
“It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I, on behalf of the Kingdom of Obudhingiya Bwa Bwamba, extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family, the Kingdom Administration, and the people of Tooro Kingdom,” the message stated.
#King Oyo remembered for service and leadership
Bwamba Kingdom said King Oyo’s leadership and contribution extended beyond the boundaries of Tooro Kingdom.
The late monarch was praised for his commitment to socio-economic transformation, environmental conservation, youth empowerment and the preservation of cultural heritage.
According to the condolence message, King Oyo’s work and leadership left a lasting mark on the people of Tooro and contributed to broader efforts aimed at strengthening cultural institutions and community development.
The Bwamba Kingdom described the late monarch as a leader whose vision and commitment to public service would continue to inspire future generations.

The condolence message also credited King Oyo with promoting peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and unity among traditional institutions.
Bwamba Kingdom said the late monarch contributed to strengthening cultural relations among traditional institutions in the Rwenzori region and across Uganda.
“His vision, humility, and dedication to the welfare of his people will remain a lasting source of inspiration to generations to come,” the message said.
The Kingdom said King Oyo’s leadership promoted cooperation and mutual respect among communities and cultural institutions.
Traditional institutions continue to play an important role in preserving cultural identity, promoting social cohesion and supporting development initiatives in their respective communities.
#Bwamba stands with Tooro
At a time of mourning for the Tooro Kingdom, the Obudhingiya Bwa Bwamba said it stood in solidarity with the Royal Family and the people of Tooro.
“At this moment of profound grief, the Kingdom of Obudhingiya Bwa Bwamba stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the Kingdom of Tooro,” the message stated.
The Omudhingiya offered prayers for strength, comfort and resilience for Queen Mother Best Kemigisa, the Royal Family, the Kingdom administration and the people of Tooro.
The message described the death of King Oyo as a great loss and called upon the people affected to remain united during the period of mourning.
Bwamba Kingdom prayed that Almighty God would grant courage and comfort to the bereaved family and the entire Tooro community.
