The event that was scheduled to take place on Sat 30th -5-2026 has been postponed until further notice following engagements between the office of the Resident City Commisioner Fort Portal and the event organisers in respect to Ebola Standard Operational Procedures as provided by the Minitry of Health .
With no Ebola case reported in the city ,the DRCC Mr Businge Emmanuel, stated that the city authorities are determined to put into force the SOPs to maintain the status quo and that in case of any eventualities, the taskforce is prepared to respond and manage the situation .He further called for heightened vigilance from the population to report any suspected cases and strict adherence to the SOP by the community members .
The Uganda minstry of Health announced the closing of all boarders with DR Congo with the position emphasised by the CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who ordered all security forces to implement the directive to curtail the spread of Ebola Virus.
DR Congo remains the epicentre of the Bundibugyo Ebola strain that has claimed hundreds of lives since the outbreak was reported, especially in the Ituri region .
