Former Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has reportedly surrendered all official parliamentary vehicles that had been assigned to her residence in Nakasero, following ongoing leadership transitions within Parliament and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
According to sources familiar with the development, the vehicles attached to the Office of the Speaker were on Wednesday returned to Parliament’s parking yard in what officials describe as part of standard administrative handover procedures.
The move comes at a time of heightened political activity and internal restructuring within Uganda’s top leadership circles, fueling speculation about shifting power dynamics in government.
Political observers say the withdrawal of the vehicles, though procedural, carries symbolic weight given Among’s influential role in recent years as Speaker of Parliament.
By press time, neither Parliament nor Anita Among had issued an official statement regarding the development.
