A geography study tour ended in tragedy after a school bus carrying students was involved in a fatal road crash in Bugweri District, leaving one person dead and 15 others injured.

The crash occurred when an Isuzu bus, registration number UA 551ED, collided with a Mercedes-Benz Actros trailer, registration number UBB 269V. Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The bus, owned by Amuria High School, was transporting students from St. Paul Secondary School, Katakwi, who were travelling to Kasenyi Landing Site in Entebbe for a geography field study.
Emergency responders rushed the injured victims to nearby health facilities for treatment, while the deceased was taken to the mortuary pending identification and a postmortem examination.
Police said investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of the crash and urged all motorists to observe road safety measures to help prevent similar incidents.
