GOMBA — Mityana Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Prossy Mwanjuzi and Kawempe Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Kagenyi Lukka escaped without serious injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in a road accident in Kirasi, Maddu Town Council, Gomba District, on Thursday.
The accident occurred on August 6, 2026, as the two government officials were travelling through the area.
As a precautionary measure, Mwanjuzi and Kagenyi were rushed to Maddu Health Centre for medical examination following the incident. Medical personnel later confirmed that both officials had not sustained any serious injuries.
Details surrounding the cause of the accident were not immediately available by press time, while local authorities continued to assess the circumstances under which the crash occurred.
The officials were reportedly travelling to Sembabule District to attend the burial of the late Baingana, whose final rites are taking place today.
Family members, friends, colleagues and government officials have gathered in Sembabule to pay their final respects to the deceased.
Authorities are expected to provide further information regarding the accident as investigations continue.
