KAMPALA** — Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has held talks with the Republic of Korea’s Defence Attaché to Uganda, Col. Kim Seha, aimed at strengthening bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting, held at the Special Forces Command (SFC) Headquarters, focused on expanding collaboration in defence, military modernisation, technology transfer, healthcare and medical training.
According to the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), the discussions explored opportunities to deepen military ties and enhance cooperation in areas that support the professional development and operational capabilities of the armed forces.
Gen. Kainerugaba also reiterated Uganda’s interest in establishing a permanent diplomatic mission in Seoul, saying the move would further strengthen the longstanding relationship between Uganda and the Republic of Korea.
For his part, Col. Kim reaffirmed South Korea’s commitment to supporting the training of UPDF officers, particularly in medical-related fields, drawing on his country’s advanced expertise in healthcare and military medicine.
The meeting underscored the two countries’ shared commitment to expanding cooperation in defence, technology, healthcare and national development, with both sides expressing optimism about future engagements aimed at strengthening the partnership.
