HOIMA CITY** — Permanent Secretary Lt. Gen. Joseph Musanyufu has called for stronger leadership, accountability and teamwork within the National Citizenship and Immigration Control (NCIC) as he officially opened the institution’s annual three-day senior management retreat in Hoima City.
The retreat, being held at Kabalega Resort, is presided over by the Acting Chief of NCIC, Col. Geoffrey Kambere, and has brought together senior managers and board members to review the institution’s performance and align priorities for improved service delivery.
Organisers said the retreat is aimed at sharpening the institution’s strategic focus, promoting open dialogue among senior officials, strengthening accountability and enhancing leadership capacity.
Speaking at the opening session, Musanyufu emphasised the need for effective leadership and collaboration in driving institutional performance and ensuring the organisation fulfils its mandate efficiently.
The retreat will also provide an opportunity for participants to assess ongoing programmes, identify operational challenges and develop strategies to improve efficiency and service delivery.
Among the officials attending the retreat are the Acting Chairperson of the NCIC Board, Beatrice Lagada, board member Prof. Eria Hisali, and the Commissioner for Inspection and Compliance, Dr Josephine Ekwang Ali.
The annual retreat forms part of NCIC’s broader efforts to strengthen institutional governance, improve coordination among senior management and enhance the implementation of its strategic objectives.
