The growing menace of vehicle-part theft in Kampala has claimed another victim, with singer Lydia Jazmine reportedly losing a side mirror from her newly acquired Range Rover.
The incident comes just days after the celebrated musician, born Lydia Nabawanuka, proudly unveiled the luxury vehicle, marking a significant personal milestone that attracted widespread praise from fans, friends, and fellow entertainers.
According to reports, unidentified thieves targeted the vehicle and allegedly stole one of its side mirrors, cutting short the excitement surrounding the singer’s latest acquisition.
The theft highlights a persistent challenge facing motorists in Kampala, where criminals frequently target vehicles for valuable components that are later sold on the black market. Side mirrors, headlights, batteries, and other spare parts have become common targets, leaving vehicle owners with costly repair and replacement bills.
Jazmine’s experience has sparked renewed discussion on social media about the increasing cases of vehicle-related theft in the city. Many Ugandans sympathized with the singer, while others called on authorities to intensify efforts to dismantle theft networks and improve security for motorists.
The incident serves as a reminder that vehicle-part theft remains a widespread concern, affecting both ordinary citizens and high-profile personalities alike.
