KAMPALA — Paul Musoke has died after succumbing to severe injuries sustained in a suspected arson attack in which he was reportedly trapped inside his own home after the door was allegedly nailed shut and the house set ablaze.
Musoke died in hospital on Saturday, according to a statement announcing his death, following what was described as a prolonged and courageous fight for his life.
The circumstances surrounding the attack have sparked calls for investigations and accountability, with those close to the deceased expressing hope that the people responsible for the incident will eventually be brought to justice.
“Very sad to announce that our brother Paul Musoke could not make it. He passed away a short while ago after a brave fight against the severe injuries he sustained in last week’s horrific arson attack,” the statement said.
According to information provided by those familiar with the incident, Musoke was allegedly locked inside his house before the door was nailed shut and the building set on fire.
He was rescued and taken to hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for severe injuries sustained during the fire.
However, despite efforts to save his life, Musoke later succumbed to his injuries.
