Kampala — The Special Forces Command (SFC) has announced changes within its leadership, with Maj. Jimmy Omara departing for the Senior Command and Staff College, Kimaka, where he will undertake a one-year senior officers’ course.
Maj. Omara, who has been serving as the SFC Spokesperson and Public Information Officer, leaves the role to further his professional military education as part of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces’ continuous leadership development programme.
Following his departure, Capt. Julius Kabandize has been appointed the new SFC Spokesperson and Public Information Officer.
The appointment marks a seamless transition in the command’s public communication function as Capt. Kabandize assumes responsibility for engaging the media and the public on matters concerning the Special Forces Command.
The Special Forces Command congratulated Maj. Omara upon his selection for the prestigious course and wished him success in his studies. The command also congratulated Capt. Kabandize on his appointment and wished him success in his new role.
