Across Uganda, testimonies from beneficiaries of the Parish Development Model (PDM) are painting a picture of growing household incomes, improved livelihoods, and renewed hope in rural communities.
Through its ongoing monitoring activities, the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), led by Senior Presidential Advisor Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, is not only ensuring accountability in the implementation of PDM but also bringing to light the real-life experiences of beneficiaries whose lives are changing through productive investment.
From cattle farmers in Kyegegwa to coffee growers in Kitagwenda, beneficiaries are sharing stories of how PDM funds have enabled them to expand enterprises, pay school fees, improve household welfare, and create sustainable sources of income.
The testimonies reveal a significant shift in mindset among many beneficiaries. Rather than viewing PDM as a one-time government handout, farmers are increasingly embracing long-term investment, reinvestment, and enterprise growth. Discussions that once centered on receiving funds are now focused on expanding herds, increasing production, and building lasting wealth.
Communities are also witnessing a ripple effect. Successful projects are motivating neighbors and encouraging more households to embrace productive ventures. Villages such as Nyabikamba II and Rwobunyonyi are becoming examples of how individual success stories can inspire wider community participation and economic growth.
According to ONC, the continued collection and sharing of beneficiary testimonies serves an important purpose. It demonstrates that when PDM funds reach the intended beneficiaries and are invested wisely, the results are visible in improved livelihoods, better education opportunities for children, stronger household incomes, and tangible development within villages.
As monitoring efforts intensify across the country, ONC says the voices of beneficiaries remain the strongest evidence that the Parish Development Model is delivering meaningful change at the grassroots level.
